The gall beetle  is a type of fungus that grows on the lower parts of old trees. It occurs naturally and is widely cultivated in Asian countries. Another common name for the lion's mane is Lion's mane, which is related to the appearance of the mushroom. Lion's mane has been used by Chinese herbalists for hundreds of years, and also for its taste in Asian cuisine.

The dietary supplement contains lysium extract standardized to 40% polysaccharides and 10% beta-glucans.

Polysaccharides  contained in mushrooms are long chains made of sugars connected by glycosidic bonds. In the world of plants and fungi, they play both a building role, e.g. fungal cell walls, and a reserve role - plants store energy (starch) in this way. Polysaccharides, depending on their configuration, form various compounds, e.g. cellulose, starch, glycogen, chitin. It is the structure of the polysaccharide that determines its role. In the case of mushrooms, beta-glucan deserves special mention.

Beta-glucans are a type of fiber belonging to the group of polysaccharides. In mushrooms, they are found mainly in fruiting bodies, where they play a building role - they form cell walls. The term beta-glucan refers to a specific configuration of sugars in the polysaccharide chain. Beta glucans characteristic of fungi and yeast have configurations of the (1.3), (1.6) beta-D-glucan type.
